I wrote an article on corn last year, the end point being that it was in fact "too good to be true", as "not afraid to use it" says.

But? I did come away from the experience with a new appreciation for corn. So much so that the lede of my article ended up being, "Corn is one sexy beast." (no joke)

So cool on the whole Maize Geneticist thing. Neato mosquito.

Fascinating. The recycling of waste has, in most instances, got to be the way to go. The amount of stormwater, for example, that SA pours into the gulf is criminal. Rather than directing funds into the building of energy consuming (and carbon emitting?) desalination plants, redirecting the waste water and conserving it would seem to be the best bet. Thought provoking article. Thanks Chris.

Very interesting points made. When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is, eh? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on biodiesel.
